Cragmont is a remarkable school for many reasons, but high among them is that families at the school provide the financial resources for critical additional programs not funded by the Berkeley school system. There are many ways you can help Cragmont with its fundraising - we encourage you to make a significant commitment to do so this year.
The money contributed by Cragmont families to the PTA is significant - last year it totaled over $100,000: $60,000 came from direct donations from about one third of Cragmont families, in response to letters sent out in the fall and again in early winter to every child's family; $30,000 came from the Spring Carnival and Quilt Auction; and $10,000+ came from other sources.
These funds provide support for classroom aides who help our teachers, our volunteer coordinators who direct and encourage parent involvement, assemblies and field trips to special places, the dynamic garden and science program, vital technical assistance for the school's many computers, and other activities and materials. The excellence that is now Cragmont's hallmark can only be maintained if we have the programs that our fundraising makes possible, along with the outstanding work of our teachers and staff, our families - and our kids. We need every Cragmont family to help financially, at whatever level they can!
