Welcome to the PTA home page
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is committed to increasing parental involvement in support of Cragmont Elementary faculty, staff, and students. Research indicates parent support helps to provide the best learning environment possible for students to be academically successful. And we think that’s important.
Our extremely involved PTA runs our Halloween event at school; the Fall Fling evening out; our Winter Arts, Crafts, and Food Fair; the Spring Carnival, and organizes our many classroom volunteers. Parents also contribute as members of our School Governance Council (SGC), which creates and directs our school plan.
Purpose of the PTA
- To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.
- To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
- To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

Cragmont’s General PTA meetings are usually held on the third Thursday of each month during the school year. Childcare is also provided. The format of the meetings varies and often include presentations, forums and break-out sessions aimed at informing, gathering information and guiding the work of the PTA to respond to community needs. General PTA business and budget items are always covered. PTA meeting announcements are sent regularly via class email lists.
