PTA

Welcome to the PTA home page

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is committed to increasing parental involvement in support of Cragmont Elementary faculty, staff, and students. Research indicates parent support helps to provide the best learning environment possible for students to be academically successful. And we think that’s important.

Our extremely involved PTA runs our Halloween event at school; the Readathon; Grandparents and Special Friend day; the Cragmont Auction evening out; the Spring Carnival; PTA Afterschool Enrichment Classes; and organizes our many classroom volunteers. Parents also contribute as members of our School Governance Council (SGC), which creates and directs our school plan.

Purpose of the PTA

  • To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.
  • To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
  • To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

Join the PTA

This year, 2018, the PTA has decided that if you are a parent of a child at Cragmont, you are on the PTA.  We have waived the annual fee so that everyone can attend and be involved in Cragmont’s PTA.  For more information contact: ptapresident@cragmont.org.

Meeting Times

Cragmont’s General PTA meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month during the school year. From 5:30-6:00 a meal is provided for you and your child (ren). At 6:00 childcare is provided while you attend the meeting from 6:00, ending promptly at 7:00. The format of the meetings varies and often include presentations, forums and break-out sessions aimed at informing, gathering information and guiding the work of the PTA to respond to community needs. General PTA business and budget items are always covered.
