Join us February 10, 17, 24 and 26 for events to celebrate Black History Month

Lifting Voices of Black Heroes of Berkeley

When: February 10, 2022 - PTA Meeting

Where: via Zoom

Who: Parents and Caregivers with students are invited to participate in this fun interactive presentation of Black Heroes of Berkeley by Kameka Goodwin.


Lifting Voices of Black Cragmont Teachers, Staff and Families

Students will get to know our own Black Heroes here at Cragmont - Images and profiles of our Black teachers, staff and families will be featured throughout Cragmont bulletin boards to lift up their voices as our heroes at Cragmont.


13 Principles of Black Lives Matter

Students will be learning about the 13 principles of Black Lives Matter through literature, writing, discussions and art projects, in support of Berkeley School Board's 2020 Resolution in Support of Black Lives Matter.  


African Mask Making with Ms. Ellen

When: Thursday, February 24, 2022, 7pm-7:30
Where: Zoom  Meeting ID: 716 937 5144  |  Passcode: auction
What: Cragmont’s art teacher, Ms. Ellen will lead students in a family-friendly activity making an African mask. Come ready with provided mask template, crayons, markers, scissors, glue stick, glitter, feathers and other fun materials you have.

Black History Month Celebration
at Grove Park 

When: February 26, 2022 12-2pm

Where: Grove Park (Oregon and MLK)

What:  Come gather and enjoy our Cragmont community with music, dancing, student performances, cultural arts and crafts and PTA hosted soul food.

What to bring: Drinks and Individually wrapped snacks to share. See Sign Up Genius (to come).


Celebrating Black Literature at Pegasus on Solano

Pegasus on Solano will have a special display of recommended books by Black Authors to celebrate Black History Month. Come purchase books for your students’ teachers’ classroom as well as your home library. Mention Cragmont for a 10% discount.
