🚗 Rolling Drop-Off: Volunteers Needed! 🚙

For the 2025-2026 year, we are bringing back our ROLLING DROP OFF SYSTEM.

All parents should DROP THEIR CHILDREN OFF ON SPRUCE ONLY and avoid dropping off at the front office or on the Regal steps.

As a reminder and for new parents, we want to make morning drop-off as efficient and safe as possible.

Our motto: safe for kids, easy for parents.

WHY:

After studies and site visits by Alameda County Safe Routes to School, the school board, and the Berkeley Police Department, we determined that a rolling drop off zone on Spruce at the foot of the stairs was the best way to ensure the safety of your children. The streets around Cragmont are narrow, windy, and dangerous and there needed to be a way to make sure that parents had a reliable and efficient way to see their children off to school.

WHAT WE NEED:

Rolling Drop Off can only work with parent volunteers. Last year, we had a great showing of enthusiasm, especially when it came to the number of parents who used Rolling Drop Off. However, we need many more volunteers than we had last year to ensure that we can continue this vital program.

We are asking for parents to sign up as early as possible this year. It’s only twenty minutes of your time on a day where you’re already dropping off your kids. What we found last year, was that parents who volunteered got to meet other Cragmont community members and had a lot of fun in the process. It also helps us keep up a program that cuts down your drop off time for ten minutes to two.
